LeydenDb: Early Adoption Program

01.Sep.17--LeydenDb, The Company, will be making LeydenDb (pronounced 'Lead-ing Db'), the fastest most cost effective Big Data system offered to date, available under the terms of our new Early Adoption Program.

We know you have many choices, but the available database products (whether open-source solutions or commercial offerings) almost never meet the hype surrounding them. The LeydenDb team's Early Adoption Program is geared to providing a fast rapid no cost demonstration / validation against your actual data. It's never been easier to choose a system that doesn't disappoint.

Why LeydenDb, a multi-terabyte high performance NewSQL database designed for Big Data, a few highlights:

  • Finding connections and relations across hundreds of billions of records made easy
  • Proven in production, runs under budget on minimal hardware, never slows down
  • Reduces both capital and operational costs, yet provides best in class performance
  • 1 RU server, Spinning disks, 337 Thousand rows/second (or 1.215 Billion rows/hour)
  • 1 RU server, NVMe SSD disks, 827 Thousand rows/second (or 2.977 Billion rows/hour)
  • These benchmarks were done on a single low cost sub $2,000 commodity compute node
  • The sky's the limit, no more server farms, no more clouds, unless you want them

But don't take our word for it ‑ you decide, let the near instant queries and the new valuable connections that you find in your own actual data be the convincing proof.

The question is if you have an existing At Scale deployment, or you are thinking of a new Big Data system; then how can you afford not to take advantage of this unique opportunity. The program will be limited to no more than five active partners at any given time, so if you want the best technology, the fastest data silos, at the lowest possible price you need to act fast.

To be prequalified and considered for this program send a brief description of your project along with contact information to the LeydenDb team at sales@leydendb.io and we will schedule an initial consult.

If you wish to receive white papers and case studies (subject to an executed NDA) contact the LeydenDb team at info@leydendb.io and we will get back to you promptly.

LeydenDb: The Spinoff

17.Jan.17--Quantum Systems Integrators, Inc., aka QuantumSI, has spun off a new joint venture, which will be focused solely on the commercialization of the LeydenDb, an innovative high performance temporal NewSQL system. Due to the massive potential of minimizing operational costs while improving performance while address the demanding needs IoT (general), CDR (telco), PM (statistical), Connections (social) a separate business entity was deemed appropriate.

The new company will be headed by one of QuantumSI's founders and longtime CTO, Jon Strabala. A 25-year veteran in the software industry, Mr. Strabala, has extensive domestic and international experience in software development, product launches, and startup consulting. Fortunately Mr. Strabala has agreed to continue on part-time at QuantumSI to ensure business continuity for the foreseeable future. QuantumSI will remain focused on complete software stacks in the areas of Billing and Performance Management, while Mr. Strabala will follow his passion of company formation and launching new technology startups. The LeydenDb Team looks forward to utilizing Mr. Strabala's unique proven skills in product development and launch, establishment new business, and formation of strategic partnerships in the big data sector in his new CEO position at LeydenDb.

QuantumSI will maintain a minority stake in the fledgling company LeydenDb and bi-directional technology transfer agreements have been put in place for the benefit of QuantumSI customers.

LeydenDb: The Genesis

22.Sep.15--Quantum Systems Integrators, Inc., aka QuantumSI, has delivered its first full production deployment of the LeydenDb system, an innovative high performance temporal NewSQL system developed in house to address the demanding needs of at scale IoT, CDR, and PM storage.

Initial real world measurements at our first customer (storing several types of Call Detail Records) shows a constant loading/indexing speed of 337 Thousand rows/second (or 1.215 Billion rows/hour) of time-oriented CDR data. Remarkably these constant performance levels have been achieved and maintained using a single 2RU low cost commodity x86 server.

Actual system tested (and deployed): one (1) Xeon(R) E5-2630 2.60GHz CPU and four (4) Seagate 4TB 7200 RPM 6.0Gbps SAS hard drives. The deployment could have easily been implemented with a smaller 1 RU server, however eight (8) drives bays remain free for future system expansion.

This innovative multi-user temporal SQL database maintains linear performance in excess of ten (10) terabytes of data. Utilizing LeydenDb's capability to handle massive data sets where most end-user queries are resolved in a matter of milliseconds.

QuantumSI is both proud and enthusiastic to base its current and future products, on LeydenDb now that is has been released from stealth mode. The ability to give our clients up to 100X database performance at scale using simple single server deployments is a clear strategic differentiator for our product line with a simple 'plug-in' upgrade to swap out more traditional (and much slower) database back-ends. Current QuantumSI customers can upgrade and accelerate existing deployments for a modest upcharge by contacting sales@quantumsi.com.

The name LeydenDb (pronounced: "Lead·ing Db") is derived from the device known as a Leyden jar, a system that essentially captures 'lightning in a bottle'. After constantly being disappointed with both traditional RDBMS and the hype from specialized database vendors, an early prototype of LeydenDb was created by QuantumSI engineers in 2011. In the next few years it was used internally at Quantum for several proof of concept technologies. Eventually in 2013 and 2014 it was christened LeydenDb and matured into a production at scale hardened system.

A single 2RU LeydenDb server can easily replace a massive forty (40) node MySQL cluster. Please contact QuantumSI for a white paper, or a direct engagement, to find out how LeydenDb can drastically reduce both capital and operational costs.
